"I put all my hope in planting these specially-cultivated trees. And it worked out really well.”
Meet Phapa. She is the village chief of Moo 3 in the Sanam Chai Khet district of Thailand’s Chachoengsao province. She lives in a house with her husband, son-in-law, and two daughters. The five of them work together in farming rice fields, planting rubber trees, and growing fruits. As a chief of her village, she serves around 900 people and 350 households, and this is only one of her responsibilities. She usually wakes up around 3 AM to start doing chores around the house and take care of her husband’s bedridden aunt, then heads to the fields to care for the fruit trees. After that is all done, it is time for her to head to her office as the village chief. She has been planting the Paper-Tree saplings for a long time and was excited when she heard about the Paper-Tree Project. She has recently found herself putting all of her hope into growing the trees, and she has seen nothing but success in her growing and family finances!
