"I’m happy to have a secondary source of income.”
Meet Samrerng. She lives in Moo 3 of the Aranyaprathet district in Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province, working as a farmer with her family. She has a family of five, consisting of herself, her husband, her son, her daughter, and her son-in-law. Samrerng sometimes works in the rice fields alongside her husband, daughter, and son-in-law. Most of the time, Samrerng will be home, taking care of the cows and house while cooking meals for the family. She received 700 trees to plant through the Paper-Tree project.
She plans to grow and care for the trees for the next four years before cutting them and selling them. She is very happy to have a second source of income for her family. She loves the trees because they are so beautiful and create a lot of shade. As a family, they all help care for their trees, hoping they will grow tall and strong. They plan to plant around 300 more trees in the future. Having the trees has already made their lives easier and they are excited for the future!
